Regional Tournament 2nd Quarter ResultsThe Second Quarter 2008 Regional Tournament was held on Sunday, August 3, 2008. The second quarter covers April, May, and June. Competing for a first place prize of $400, the final table initially had Brian L., Rocky F., Doug F., Joseph S., Tessa H., Nick D., and David H. A six hour no limit Texas Hold'em tournament began at 2:00 and ended at 8:00 to determine the final winner. Nick arrived at the final table with about one third of all the chips. It was an impressive stack and he was by far the chip leader. Nick experienced a reversal going out third when he lost all of his chips to Rocky, who then became the chip leader. Matt suggested they chop the pot, but with such a commanding lead Rocky opted to play it out. As the blinds went on, Rocky lost "his" big winnings to Matt who took Rocky's last chip. Matt therefore won first place, the $400 and the title of 2nd quarter regional winner of the Red, White, and Blue Poker League. First place in the loser's tournament went to Earl B., with Jeff K. second, Joshua K. third, and Frank J. taking fourth place. A number of photos were taken by Al Talacek, the Father of one of the players. The 50 or so photos are slowly making their way to the web pages.
