How the Points Work

Points are calculated based on two factors: participation in a tournament, and position at the winner's table.  Each player gets 50 points for printing their name on the sign in sheet and participating in a tournament.  An additional 50 points is placed in a pool for the tournament.  This point pool is divided among the players who make it to the winner's table.

The sign-up sheet for each Texas Hold'em Poker tournament has columns for both the player's name and the player's member identification number. To insure you get proper credit for points, the player should enter their Member Id.  If the member id is omitted, then we will look it up for the player after the tournament.  So please print your name legibly.

The winner's table is the last eight players who remain in the tournament.  Each poker player at the winner's table gets a portion of the point pool.  In the case of the first place winner the most points are awarded.  For first place, this amounts to 20 points for every person who played in the tournament.  So if ten people were in the tournament first place is awarded 200 points, plus 50 points for entering the tournament, or 250 points total.  If 50 people are in the tournament, then the first place winner receives 1,000 points for winning, plus 50 points for entering the tournament, or 1,050 points total for the tournament.

The remaining seven players at the final table get smaller portions of the point pool based on what position they placed.

Poker tournaments are for fun, no gambling is involved because there is no cost or buy-in. Everyone can play for free.
